ClubhouseReviews
The greens have come in and course is great.
The yardage markers in the fairways need to be more visible. This will speed up play. Cart path stripes blue 200, white 150, Red 100 yards.
Poor excuse for a course
This is an absolutely terrible course. The fairways are hard, with little turf, mostly hardpan and bedrock. The bunkers are Georgia red clay. The greens were recently aerated and sanded, but they did not attempt to remove any sand. The greens were actually white, and very little grass could be seen. Some of the sand was a half-inch deep. The layout is wonderful, and it is a shame the conditions are so bad. Do not make the mistake of playing here.
Great Layout and Potential, Poor Upkeep
This course is in a nice area with beautiful surroundings. The clubhouse appears to be a temporary trailer that became permanent. Very nice staff. Course had major potential, the layout and design is beautiful and exciting. The quality and upkeep need work. I am from Michigan and experience high quality fairways and greens. This might be typical of Georgia, but the greens seemed to have been fried last summer. Fairways need some love also. Overall a good experience.
Fairways need attention the greens were all muddy. They need serious attention. Just not a great course to play on. Just terrible greens.
Not a great course to play. It is in need of some serious attention. The greens are terrible. All of he greens are in very poor condition. The fairways could use some attention too. Overall I wouldn't go back!
Not bad
My wife and I played here for the first time ever today. Overall the course isn't bad. It has more of a rustic feel to it versus the more "upper crust" feel that you get at a Country Club or similar course. The grass has started to brown in a lot of spots, but I kind of expected that in December. I imagine that the course would be gorgeous during the summer time. Our pace of play was around 3:45 for 18 holes, and we never felt either rushed or slowed. Some of the "sand" bunkers were actually red clay, which was the first time I'd ever seen that on a golf course. Not sure how hard it would have been to hit out of them; I luckily didn't land in any. There are a few holes either over or around water that can be pretty challenging. The water was low in the small lakes and streams, but that's probably due mostly to there being almost no rain in the past month or so. Overall it was a fun course to play; not hard, but not super-easy either.
