This is one of my all time favorite courses anywhere. I'll jump at any chance to play it when an invitation comes my way. The Bob Cupp designed layout is traditional in feel and demanding for players of all skill levels. A round at Settindown Creek will often call upon every single club in the bag and multiple shot shapes. Even from the back tees at 7100+ you'll find that not every tee shot is a driver, and some require draws while fades are preferred elsewhere. The par 3's are excellent and you hit completely different clubs on each one of them. Two of the par 5's are reachable, while 2 are not. The course has incredible variety and you will find yourself able to recall every hole after the round. The course is always in excellent, tournament-like condition with fast, bentgrass greens and well-manicured fairways. Playing to your handicap there will be a stern test... Good shots are certainly rewarded, but poor shots are punished... often severely. A well played round at Settindown Creek is immensely satisfying. It's no wonder the GSGA, USGA and Nike Tour love the place for staging National Championship level tournaments! There is no pool or tennis courts there to distract from what it's all about... just a fantastic golf course and excellent practice area. As the suburban, championship facility of the historic Ansley Golf Club in midtown the service is what you would expect - first class. The best part is that while you may be surrounded by some of the "movers and shakers" in the Atlanta business community, you would never know it. The club has a warm, casual feel about it that is very comfortable. No need for stiff and stuffy... everyone is there for the same reason - the fantastic golf course. Next time you meet a member of Ansley Golf Club, be sure to try and land an invitation to play Settindown Creek - you won't be disappointed.
