About

The Hooch Golf Club sits along the Chattahoochee River in Duluth, sprawling across a scenic landscape covered with ponds and lakes. The course is an executive, par-61 layout that combines traditional features with modern challenges. Although there aren't any par 5s on the golf course there are a few holes that stretch to over 400 yards, which guarantees that you'll be using all the clubs in your bag. There is plenty of water throughout the golf course, including three holes that play right along the river. It might not be what you're looking for if you want something truly formidable, but for a short course it's a good challenge that provides excellent iron practice. Besides the golf course, The Hooch is also known for its 12-acre, lighted driving range. There are also putting and chipping greens with a deep-faced practice bunker.

Early Saturday morning round
Haven't played the Hootch in several years and was impressed with the pace of play as well as the condition of the greens. Really liked the starter, very friendly and kept things moving along. The cashier was more focused on his cell phone than customers but the bathroom was clean and smelled good.
Overall very impressed!
Fun Course for beginners
This is a fun course if you're a beginner. Not too long and enough holes to make it fun. This is my go to course now. I will continue to use the deal of the day. The extra fees are a rip off but the deal is ok
Improved Greens
At one time the greens were just flat out bad. The have done a great job getting the greens up to golf standards. Great course to work your irons but still affords you to pull the driver out. Sometimes a little over priced for a par 62, but a lot of fun. Great for the beginner.
Pace of play was very poor. We arrived for our designated tee time at 1:32 and had 2 groups ahead of us that were in line to tee off before us (didnt tee off until 1:50). After that my group was sitting in the fairway every hole waiting on the group in front of us. I believe this may have just been poor management by the starter.
Great course for a quick round!
I love playing the Hooch because I can work on my game and usually get in 18 holes in around two and a half hours. The course is not hilly and that is a plus since I recently had knee replacement surgery. The course has a nice mixture of par 3's and 4's and it is very easy to use most of the clubs in your bag.
And the best part is that is very reasonably priced.
Excellent Short Range Course
This is my favorite short range course with 7 Par 4s and 11 Par 3s. The course is very well maintained and the greens are in excellent condition. I will play here many more times moving forward.
Fun course to play
First time to play this course and had a great time. Over 9 par 3s and was not as hard as I thought it would be.
Awesome Course!
I played The Hooch for the first time last week and it was an awesome course for its value! Fun par 3's and driveable par 4's - depending on where you tee it up! But overall loved the course and will definitely be back again! Staff was super friendly and helped my pace of play when there was a 4-some in front of me, to allow me to play through!
You should try this course out if you haven't yet!
Great experience
When my son and myself got there there were two foursome ahead of us so they gave the option to go off the back nine which we did. The coarse was very challenging which we like and plenty of par threes and interested par fours. I would recommen this coarse over and over again.
Always a Good Experience
I have played this course a few times and I have always enjoyed my round here. I was the first player out and was done in 2 hours on a sunny Saturday morning. The course was in very good condition the greens were excellent and the staff/starter/marshals are always friendly and accommodating. I don't know of any other executive length course in the general vicinity that compares with what this course and facility can offer. I recommend this course. Thank you.
Cheap but Awful
The staff here is terrible, not to mention rude. This course is terrible and they act like it's Augusta National. We were very disappointed with how the staff acts and just the terrible customer service skills they have. Let's be honest... We knew it was a cheapo course, and you get what you pay for, that does not excuse customer service. When we came up people were dressed in Jeans and T-Shirts, looked like a scene from a putt putt course on spring break. The facilities are run down, the bathrooms should be in a horror movie, and I was worried to leave my car in the parking lot.
This was a spur of the moment trip, and my friend carries his clubs in his car. I picked him up and he threw the necessary clubs in my bag... it's only a par four do not many clubs are needed. The starter hounded us for having one bag and I pulled out my friends clubs and asked if he wanted me to put them in a trash bag ? He said we would be slow... We passed solos. Again we usually have both bags like most places require but when your clientele dresses as if they rolled out of bed we did not see the need to go all out.
If you want a cheap experience with people driving all over the course to get their balls and get in your way this is the place to go. I would rather spend $20 bucks and play at a civilized facility then play here again.
Korean owners need to tend to course care!
Great location, popular course that gets tons of use but the owners really need to spend some money on maintenance of the course!
Great coarse for the money
For the golfer who is just starting out. This is the course for you. Even though their are courses out their that will really challenge you. This course makes you have a good fun day of golf.
Fun Course, Good shape
I have always really enjoyed playing The Hootch. The staff is great and very friendly. They spend a lot of time keeping the course in great condition, even after all the rain the previous day. Greens were a little shaggy, but really in good shape for the amount of traffic. Play was good, got a round in rather quickly didn't have to wait very long. One thing that I wish could be improved is the drainage in the sand traps. All of the ones my partner landed in were full of water, and lost his ball twice in the trap. Could use better draining. Will play again.
Love this course
This course is great for a quick 18 holes. Par 3's and 4's with the longest hole about 310? 2some in under 2 hours. Nice layout and pretty good conditions for March. They were aerating the greens but that was to be expected this time of year. I would recommend to anyone.
Nice Executive Course
Played the Hooch a few times in this early season(March). Good for a hacker like me. Get my Iron play down and the distances all the clubs will go. Final round was during green aeration, so it was naturally a little rough. Its a great course for beginners or folks who don't hit the ball a ton anymore.
