About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business.
The Hooch Golf Club sits along the Chattahoochee River in Duluth, sprawling across a scenic landscape covered with ponds and lakes. The course is an executive, par-61 layout that combines traditional features with modern challenges. Although there aren't any par 5s on the golf course there are a few holes that stretch to over 400 yards, which guarantees that you'll be using all the clubs in your bag. There is plenty of water throughout the golf course, including three holes that play right along the river. It might not be what you're looking for if you want something truly formidable, but for a short course it's a good challenge that provides excellent iron practice. Besides the golf course, The Hooch is also known for its 12-acre, lighted driving range. There are also putting and chipping greens with a deep-faced practice bunker.

Good Executive Course
I have played here various times. The challenge is the narrowness of the holes and the lack of growth on the fairways. It is a fun little course but the driver won't be used too much.
Hooch Golf Course
Good course to work on irons. More than usual par 3 holes on this course.
It's an executive golf course
Played in the afternoon around 3 pm on a Friday which is going to be slower and busier than usual. Pace of play was a little slow being the starter allowed a group of 4 to split into 3 carts?? Fairways and tee boxes are average condition for this time of year. The green's need some work and like others have noted "Repair your ball marks!!"
Finally...We have greens!
This was the first time I have seen the hooch with all 18 greens fully covered. Although the ball marks were significant, the greens ran well. I will now resume my recommendating of this course.
Greens are gpod. Tee boxes neef hhelp
First look at the putting greens and thought OMG are the greens going to look like this. Lots of pro-ana I think they missed spraying the putting green with pre-emergent. However the greens were in a lot better shape. Please fix your ball marks. Please fix your ball marks. Other than that it was a very nice executive course
Good value course
This is a good value course though the greens and traps need some TLC. Can't go light on the pre-emergent in Georgia as the weeds come in quick. It was obvious they had been sprayed as they were turning yellow, but an annoyance around the greens.
Slow play
Slow playing but it was a holiday weekend could have been quicker if a marshal was going about telling people to quicken their game up
Excellent Executive Course
The Hooch is a fantastic value for what it offers. 11 Par 3's and 7 Par 4's make for an iron-heavy round, especially considering two of the Par 4's best play off the tee is an iron lay-up.
The course is fairly well maintained, although there are a few shady, and patchy greens and un-repaired ball marks are quite common, although not the courses' fault. They did a very good job of keeping leaves clear of the holes for the most part.
We were behind an elderly 4-some which unintentionally slowed our pace considerably. I hope when I'm 80, I'm still out there playing like these guys! Slow pace because of groups like this I don't mind.
There are several repetitive holes on the course, but it also offers a good variety of shots to work on.
Nice day here
Greens were in great shape.
Why don't the people who play here fix their ball marks on the greens? It's discourteous & annoying to see a green cratered w/ball marks.
I fixed at least three on every green.
This course gets a lot of play & it's in very good shape.
I like hot deal price
It is good for me to play in hot deal price because
I play 2-3 times a month
Course is fairly easy.
The greens were in great condition. The Marshall was okay. The desk staff could be more friendly.
Straight forward!
Pretty easy course, great for practice or new golfers. I rode in a buggy, but it would be an easy walk and probably more fun that way imo. I started at 1pm on a Friday and had no "P.O.P" (pace of play) issues There are maybe 2 or 3 holes with trees bracketing the fairway, a couple of challanges with forced carry over marsh on 1-2 holes as well, overall a ton of fun. Greens are pretty good,, the problem lies with the usual offense, "Non-repaired ball marks"! It's so aggravating! Takes 2 seconds to fix! They should attach a repair tool to every cart key so there is NO excuse. Walkers usually have one I hope.
Usually I would have a complaint or 2
But the cost is in very nice condition, but the greens were slow, I'm going to blame that on the rain. It was wet but I enjoyed this course for the first time in ages. Keep up the good work
A Nice Course and Facility
I just returned to golf after a couple of decades of non playing. I plan on enjoying the many golf courses that North GA has to offer. My experience at the Hooch Golf Club was very pleasant. The pace of play was very good, finished in a threesome just under 3 hours. The course was challenging and in very nice shape. I highly recommend this course and facility and I am sure that I will be back many times.
You get what you pay for
Extremely slow pace of play. Course was in marginal shape. We got a great price but let after 9 holes as the pace of play was unbearable. No MRahals on course to keep folks moving.
Enjoyable
Fun course good condition. I wish others would repair ball marks on the greens. I try to fix mine and as any others on every green.
This course is good to get your timing and rhythm down.
I will always come back. Very clean and everybody is friendly.
Excellent for young golfers
I play here with my 13 year old son. The holes are mixed between par 3's and 4's and are great for a kid that hits between 100 and 150 yards. Also great for older golfers like me for improving approach shots and avoiding water.
