Henderson Golf Club is a local favorite since it is the most affordable public course in Savannah. The course wanders across a scenic landscape accented with towering pines, pristine wetlands, colorful magnolia trees, and mature oaks artfully draped with Spanish moss. Playing the golf course is like getting two for one with a front nine that is almost completely open, much like a traditional links course, while the back nine is narrower with trees lining the fairways. The undulating greens are tricky since they are bordered by generous collars that require a delicate touch. The nines have a different character from one another but they are equally challenging. Henderson Golf Club is a manageable length at 6,700 yards from the back tees. It's a layout that favors accuracy, strategy, and creative shot making over distance.

- I totally enjoy Henderson when I have the opportunity to play golf. The course has been really improved and the layout is quite challenging from the distance to all obstacles and turns. Thanks for taking care of it now ...great layout, friendly staff, wonderful condition for early January. this is a must play in Savannah areaThis course has really improved over the last couple years.. Well manicured and very attentive course personnel. Very good course for the money.This course has been taken over by the folks at Crosswinds. It is getting better by the day and is in good condition with a few improvements that should be completed by Spring. I joined in March of 2012 when it was aweful, and it has steadily gotten better by the day since. It is a very challenging course and will test every skill you have in the bag. If you think you can play , then you have to try this course. The layout will test your accuracy off the tee, and punish you hole after hole if you don't choose the right club. The fairways are nice,and the rough is a force to be reckoned with if you wind up in it. It is a true test of skills off the tee, from the fairway ,and rolling the ball on the greens. The practice area is nice and wide,and the guys in the clubhouse and on the range are very professional on every way. This course is in good hands now and will be a top notch golf course in just a few short months.
