WET BUT PLAYABLE
DO TO ALL THE RAIN ,WE HAVE HAD. THE COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. I DO SEE THERE ARE TRYING TO MAKE IT BETTER. IT IS A FUN COURSE TO PLAY FOR THE MONEY.
Terrible
It was the worst round of golf I've ever had. I had a 1:32 tee time. When I arrived at 1 o'clock I was informed they had 70 carts and they were all out and had 6 for Sims waiting for Carts. When I got to the starter he had a she didn't print it out at 6 o'clock in the morning, 30x every 15 minutes and the list had 6 names on it. They have we overlooked the course the pace of play was terrible and it was the most disorganized mess I have ever seen.
Okay course. TERRIBLE STAFF
The course itself is decent. It has potential to be a tucked away, hidden gem. However, the staff is the rudest I've ever encountered golfing. My partner and I made a mistake of driving down the rough on a par three. By rough, we were driving practically in the woods to avoid driving on a fairway of a par three, which I know is a no-no. So we are parked in the woods practically, in no way of even breaching the fairway and there is some guy cursing us with the worst language I've ever heard. (I should also clarify that I saw three other twosomes driving down the fairways of par threes.) This guy was pitching a fit like a toddler would...kicking his cart and yelling. We saw this "gentleman" again as he was driving by us on the eight hole and he still was not finished cursing my partner and I for an honest mistake.
I have been playing golf for a long time and know when to use discretion on a course. It was an overreaction and uncalled for.
Bottom line, if you are a perfect human being and never make a mistake, go play the course. It is a good value and a decent round of golf. If you're human and make mistakes like the rest of us, I would choose one of the other one hundred courses in the Atlanta Metro area.
Great Place
Go good feedback on this course from friends who played here last week and decided to check it out for myself. This is a very nice and wide open course which is terrific for a beginner such as myself and the deal that was offered by Golf Now for a mid-day tee time made it a spectacular outing. I will play it again next week.
Don't play here unless it's exceptionally cheap
I've played St. Andrews several times and I've finally decided that I'm probably not going back. The course is usually in ok shape. This time was below average although that's probably because the course hasn't had enough time yet to recover from the heat. Fairways have grass on them but some of them are mostly weeds. Bunkers aren't even dirt, much less sand; they're mostly clay and look like they haven't seen a rake in months. However what made me decide not to play here again is the course staff; had a tee time for 12:30, showed up about 11:45. Walked into the clubhouse and the cashier did not say a word to me except to inform me that we wouldn't be able to tee off until 12:50. Every time I've played here the clubhouse staff has been, at best, disinterested. Don't play here unless you can pay less than $15, which is unlikely since they're exceptionally proud of their course here.
Good for the money
Course was good for the money. Fairways were hard but had grass. Greens in good shape for the lack of rain but bunkers were bad. Needs sand.
Great value
Course is always in good shape. Good prices friendly staff. worth the money
St Andrews
Course was in good shape until it rained hard for about 20 minutes, we continued to play the back nine and there was a lot of standing water on every hole
Nice
Beware hunters hunt nearby and gun shots can be heard. They freshly air rated the greens so it's a little rough on the putting. The staff seemed a little less than friendly but the course was a nice view and plays well for me as a novice.
Will Never Play Again
This course used to be in my monthly rotation of local courses but I will not be playing here again. The past two times it has taken my group 5 1/2 hrs to play because they schedule so many tee times. At one point there were 5 groups on 1 hole. They actually had a starter this time but there is nothing he can do with so many tee times and the Marshal just rides around saying sorry but no one is playing slow. So if your considering playing this course I recommend you pay a few extra dollars and play at a course that will be better playing wise and much more enjoyable.
Yeah...no!
This place is way out there. Based on reviews I thought it would be in good shape. Greens were recently punched and will be good soon. Absolutely no grass in the fairways or teeboxes. Course doesnt seem to get any attention from the staff that works there. You get what you pay for I guess...
Good
Definitely worth the price. Challenging while still allows for decent scores.
this course is challenging
Course wasn't bad for the winter greens was real good
great course to play
Nice course to play. During that time the back 9 was only open. green role good, far way are ok. enjoyed my round
Just right
Course is in great shape for the winter. We had a great time!
Great round of golf for the price
Great condition for winter golf. Will continue to play there. Friendly staff. Great price.
great course
a little crowded because of frost delay. The play was a little slow but speed got better thru front nine. Elderly golfers were a bit slow, but we all are getting slow. Let them enjoy
I've never seen the greens this slick..!
The course is in very good condition. The fairways were in nice condition and the greens were extremely fast. The only cons were a few tee boxes needed work and several areas could use some fill dirt or sod, especially around cart paths.
