Greens were in excellent shape.
Did not expect the greens to be this good with the weather we have had. GREAT job by the grounds crew to have everything back in shape.
The course was a good quick 9 hole fix
I enjoyed the quick pace. The course was wet but I enjoyed it.
16 buck value
Its funny reading the reviews here. It is not the Old Course, the real St Andrews. Its a country course in the middle of nowhere. What do you expect for under 20 dollars? I remember when it was a 9 hole course. Back nine is better than the front in my opinion just because it is not surrounded by houses. I played there on a very windy day. The wind was moving the ball on the greens, you could see a high flop go with the wind a bit. Kind of funny. The lady inside the shop was very nice, thought I was crazy for being out there. I was the only one on the course the whole day. And of course I only played "one" ball. lol..For the price I have nothing negative to say. Is it worth the drive from Macon? Of course not, but if your on the west side then its a good place. I live across the street from a golf course a few miles away in D'ville and St Andrews is always a pleasant break. I will be back as long as golfnow keeps spitting out these deals.
great value
For the money probably the best value around.course is in good condition. Can fit a variety of skill for a fun day of golf for everyone. I would recommend to a friend
Still a good course
This course was always a hidden gem. But lately it's been in need of attention. The fairways are hard and some greens are distressed and bumpy. It's still a good course but needs a little more attention.
Great value
This is a wide open course that bombers will love. The conditions were surprisingly good considering they said they had an airetion flag. Greens are in great shape! Nice Bent Grass. Will be back.
Great place to play for the money.
Great staff and great course for the $. I used golf now for my tee times and I saved 35% of the daily rate.
Decent course at decent price
Course is good for the money. The greens have been getting better since they aerated them. It's a good course but can get boring if you play a few weeks in a row.
Great course!
This course is always great to play! The staff is very friendly and course is always maintained very well.
course maintained
I will gladly play the course again and will encourage others to do the same
Not worth the drive from newnan
Upon arriving, we were told in the pro shop we could go off early. When we got to the starter shack, we had to wait behind a foursome on the tee and another foursome in the fairway. It was slow going all day. Took well over 4 and a half hours for 18 holes. All three tees, back, middle, and senior tees were all grouped together. Course was only playing about 5800 yards long. Decided to play it all the way back at the back of the last tee box to stretch it out. Greens were slow with lots of crab grass growing up in them. There was also a lot of crab grass in the rough. Tees and fairways were not bad, but could have been better. Best part of the course was the consistency with the sand, not too deep and not too shallow. Just right. All in all, probably about a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Starter was not very friendly at all. Had we of gotten around the two foursomes, we could have finished in less than 4 hours. Because of the pace, will not be going back.
Great condition!
First time in ten years that I have played this course. Glad I came back. The course was in great condition. The fairways were smooth and well cut. The greens rolled great.
fun course
great course for all levels of play. would recommend to anyone.
in better shape
this course is in much better shape than last year. I'm sure the rain has helped it a lot.
Nice layout with elevations and views
fairways and greens are in good condition. greens a little slow but roll true. great value for $18. Tree lined on the front, have to hit it straight.
Best shape this course has been in.
Friendly Staff, great price and excellent course conditions.
Would recommend it to golfers in the area for sure...
Nice Course in Decent Shape
Played here this weekend with a foursome. Overall the course is in good shape. A few spots needed a little improvement but the grass was green and the greens were in good shape. Most of the holes are straight forward. Nothing too challenging. No spectacular views or pristine/tranquil views. Fairways and t-boxes were a little hard (caught some big bounces) in a few locations but overall the playing surfaces were firm without being hard. The clubhouse looks newish but their selection of goods (apart from a decent selection of inexpensive balls) was quite basic. The staff was friendly (a little slow). Great value at regular prices. Picked up a $17/pp deal from Golf Now Deal Caddy - well worth the price.
Time will tell
Decent course, doesn't beat you up too bad. The greens were a bit lumpy and the fairways pretty thin. I've heard this course has new management, and apparently has done a lot of work to get it into the condition it's in now. I've heard it was much worse off a few years ago. If the management is doing the right things, this place will be pretty good in a few years. The day I went the course was packed, and the pace was very slow. My group spoke to the marshal when he came around, and he went ahead and apparently sped up the groups in front, but unfortunately he came around on about the 15th hole so it was too late to help much. Overall a pretty fun round
